Robyn Susan Hansen Smuin was born on October 28, 1957 to Glen K. Hansen and Carol Wahlin Hansen.
On December 3, 2015 our sweet wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend left us too soon to join the legions building God's kingdom on the other side of the veil at the very young age of 58.
Our angel Susan is a unique soul. Those who know her understand that she is the most compassionate and caring person and feel fully loved and accepted by her. She made caring for people a career. She received the Florence Nightingale award in nursing school and went on to many years of providing the best care for anyone she treated.
Susan has a passion for learning and adventure. She will undoubtedly be creating and studying in Heaven to help prepare the way for her loved ones.
As a wife and mother there are no words sweet enough to describe her fully. She lit up the room, filled it with warmth and melted the hearts of her dear husband, daughters, grandchildren and all who knew her.
Her grandchildren experienced a life with their grandma that was exciting and full. She was there for them at sporting events, dance recitals, baptisms, school programs, slumber parties and many other memorable activities. Each one of them feel the unique and individual love she has for them. They will greatly miss the evening mountain biking, cliff jumping, the random texts messages to express her love and the many deep political and spiritual conversations.
Susan comes from a close family and was always there when her mother, father or siblings needed her. They have forged through a difficult life together and managed to laugh a lot along the way. They already miss their sweet Susan.
Susan married the love of her life, Devon Smuin on June 4, 1993. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Vernal LDS temple on April 7, 2007. Their life together has been exciting and adventurous, sacred and solemn and the time of eternal reunification can't come too soon.
Susan is survived by her husband Devon Smuin; her mother Carol Williamson; her siblings Sandy Westwood, Julie (Bernie) Oberhansley, Glen (Diane) Hansen, Jill (Ronnie) Workman, Kalene (Chris) Gamble and Wayne Hansen; her daughters Mica (Bret) Goodrich, Melissa (Rex) Huber, Melinda (Grady) Martin; 15 grandchildren and many close family and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Glen K. Hansen; brothers Will Anderson and David Williamson; nephews J.R. Jackson and Bucky Westwood.
Our dear Susan carried her families worries, sorrows, fears and frustrations as well as their many joys. She has a gift of empathy greater than any of us have ever known. She is a stalwart disciple of her Heavenly Father and an intimate friend and follower of her brother and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is a great example to all. Mom, may you rest from your worries and feel only the awesome love and acceptance of your husband, family and your loving Heavenly Father and your brother, Jesus. Until we meet again, we love you!
