Roger Blaine Mitchell

Roger Blaine Mitchell passed away at his home on May 29th, 2023 at the age of 74. Roger was born on April 22nd, 1949 in Roosevelt, Utah to Betty Lou Hansen and Ned B. Mitchell. He attended Altamont High School where he ran track and field and played center for the basketball team, he graduated in 1967. He worked for his dad's construction company for many years, and also worked in the oilfield and worked for Moon Lake Electric. Roger had three children; Rory, Cade, and Kimberly; and seven Grandchildren. He enjoyed hiking, basketball, golfing, collecting antique knives and guns, reading about world history and loved studying church history and family history. He loved his poodle and schnauzer. Roger held many church callings in his life and enjoyed doing temple work. He served a fulltime mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Tennessee/Kentucky Mission from August 1968 to September 1970 and was a faithful member until his death. He is survived by his children, Cade and daughter Kimberly; 3 siblings; stepchildren; and grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his son Rory, his parents, his sister Patricia, and his brother Gillman. Graveside services for Roger will be held Thursday June 8, 2023 at 10:00am at the Altamont-Mount Emmons Cemetery (3700 N 16500 W Altamont, UT). Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
