Born January 29, 1936, rode into the sunset from Maeser, Utah August 1, 2014
Born in Payette, Idaho to Aubryn Frazier Smith and Elda Beth Loveland Smith. Married Barbara Ann Myers, divorced. Two daughters were born to this union, Rosemary Lynn Smith and Holly Beth Smith. Married Alice Oliver Robertson in 1995.
Ron lived in Idaho, Washington, Nevada, Nebraska and Utah. He was a Journeyman pipe fitter for Union Pacific for 35 years and retired after a shoulder injury. He shod horses for 25 years as a hobby and was considered one of the best in Utah.
He was a cowboy at heart. He loved his boots, hats and Levis. He broke many horses. He rode his mule and took packhorses into the Uintah Mountains as frequently as he could, camping, fishing and hunting. He was an excellent shot with his shotgun and rifle and often fed his family the flavorsome duck, as well as geese, upland game, and venison.
He belonged to the Masonic Lodge for about 50 years, and was a Shriner and had standing in the Scottish Rite.
Ron had a great heart and loved to cook and share his cuisine with friends and neighbors. He also liked to help people in need at every opportunity.
Ron is survived by his wife Alice; daughter, Rosemary; Stepson Jed (Marcia) Kinckiner; Step-Granddaughter Brittney (Jared) Chandler and their baby Lily; Step-Grandson Justin Kinckiner; Step-Granddaughters Sabrina and Erika Kinckiner; and "adopted sons" Dave and Kelly Phillips, Russ Kocherhans, and Lee J.
