Rorik Ken Barker

August 28, 2000 — September 7, 2022

Vernal

Rorik Ken Barker (Homer) was born August 28, 2000 and passed away September 7, 2022. His parents Ryan S Barker (Shantel) and Raquel Hanchett. Rorik was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Homer loved his leaders and all the activities they planned. He enjoyed playing little league football. He excelled in Hockey and Track. Homer enjoyed borrowing his mom's Harley and going on rides. He loved hiking, fishing, hunting or just being out shooting his guns. He loved anything outdoors most of all his snowmobile. There was no hill too big or steep. He was fearless. Rorik liked anything that was fast or dangerous, he was a bit of an adrenaline junkie. It didn't matter what it was as long as it was with family or friends, he would try anything at least once. He thought the world of all his friends. He would do anything for them and they are the same for him. Whether just hanging out or their crazy adventures. He was also close with his cousins. Most of all, he loved his nieces and nephews. He would go out of his way to see them and would play with them for hours. Homer loved to serve, he was down to help whoever needed help. He worked many years with his sisters and co-workers trimming trees in the family business. He loved his job with BHI, he was so proud when he got his job there. He worked hard at everything he did, he was a thinker always trying to make things easier. No matter what, he always had that big cheesy smile. It didn't matter the circumstance, he could light up any room he entered. Rorik loved to joke around always scaring his step-mom and seven sisters. He was at the bottom half of the bunch, needless to say he grew up tough. Thanks to all his coaches, leaders, family, friends and all the many people that influenced his life. It definitely takes a tribe to raise kids. He will be missed in every aspect. Don't be sad, he is watching over us. If you find funny little things happening around the house, you know Homer is probably behind it. Rorik is survived by his parents Ryan and Shantel Barker, and Raquel Hanchett. His sisters Josslyn Barker, Harlee Mathiesen (Kyle), Tasha Watkins (Ashton), Charity Tolbert (Logan), Brinlee Baker (David), Kelcie Olsen, Preslie Olsen, 5 nieces and nephews, grandparents and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandma Adele Hanchett, uncle Travis Hanchett, Brother Dace Richard Olsen, Nephew Bennett Mathiesen, and great grandparents. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:00AM at the Maeser LDS Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North). A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6-8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Monday 9:45-10:45AM at the Church.
