Scott Harden Nelson

Scott Harden Nelson, age 60, passed away January 23, 2023 in Vernal, Utah Scott was born on September 30, 1963 to Harden and Janet Nelson. He married Cindy Atwood on October 23, 1981. Together they raised 3 boys. Although they divorced after 25 years of marriage, they remained cordial to each other. He then married Gayleen Potter in 2013 and they divorced in 2016. Scott had many professions over the years including logging, truck driving, and real estate but his favorite was being a welder. Scott was a lover of anything outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and grew an amazing garden. He loved to tinker and fix things and was an excellent teacher to his boys, always showing them how things worked. He loved spending time with his family playing cards and games and telling stories. Scott is survived by his children Alex (Alicia) Nelson and Jason Atwood. Grandchildren Taylor Lakins, Jacob Lakins, Samantha Atwood, Jayce Holman, Delsi Smuin, Addison Fouts, Branson Nelson and Sadie Nelson. Great grandson Jason Lakins. Brother Darin (Kristy) Nelson and sister Stacey Nelson. Many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Brandon Nelson, Sister Debbie Pummell, Parents Harden and Janet Nelson and Grandparents. Funeral services for Scott will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 12Noon at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 6PM ~ 8PM and Saturday from 10:45am ~ 11:45am all at the mortuary. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park.
