Beloved wife, mother, and sister Shanna Jane Thomas passed away on October 17,2024. Shanna was born on November 6,1936, the middle child of Miles and Tillie Miller in Helper, Utah. She was married to Buck Thomas April 16,1957 in the Manti Temple, Manti Utah. She was a Graduate of College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah. Shanna was a dedicated stay at home wife and mother. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother in both Harden, Montana and Farmington New Mexico. Every summer she and her husband would pack up enough supplies for long camping trips all over the West. She also taught her oldest children how to play the piano. She worked hard to make holidays and birthdays memorable. She also had a large garden including apricot, peach and plum trees. When her youngest child started school, she then embarked on a new career (still remaining a dedicated mother and wife) as an insurance agent. She took many classes and worked hard, rising through the ranks, becoming a top notch auto insurance agent. She worked for both the Independent Insurance Agencies and State Farm. She could tell you what color of car to buy to keep your rates low. Shanna was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. After retiring she and her husband served on two foreign missions. The 1st to Guatemala City, Guatemala and then to Cebu Philippines Missions, as well as a Ward and Stake missionary. She also served in the Bishops Storehouse in Farmington, New Mexico. Shanna was a very talented pianist and served several times throughout her life as Ward Organist and Choir Director. She also served as Primary President and a Seminary teacher. She is preceded in Death by her parents. Miles and Tillie Miller. Siblings and their spouses Jeff and Nannette Miller, Jack and Merle Blair. Sibling in-laws Craig and Maryanne Draper. Also preceded with the death of son Dale Thomas and Grandson Joseph Thomas. Survived by husband Buck Thomas, children Juanelle Thomas, Dean Thomas, Matt (Tammy) Thomas, and Charlotte (Eugene) Burbank. In-laws, Homer and Glenna Thomas. Richard Heath, Debbie (Dale) Thomas and Larae Thomas. Fifteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to give special thanks for the care received at Ashley Valley Medical Center and Canyon Home Care and Hospice. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11AM at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery (300 South 3500 West). A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:30AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
