Shannon Mills

Shannon Mills passed away on 12/01/2025 at the age of 68. She was surrounded by family and love. Shannon was born on 07/12/1957 to Betty Lyons (Burke) and Elliott Burke in San Bernardino California.

Shannon married Donald Mills on 03/28/1982 in Redlands California.

Shannon enjoyed a life almost as beautiful as she was. In her younger years she did a bit of modeling for fun with her sister. She loved to sew and made her family many beautiful pieces of clothing throughout the years. Alongside her husband Shannon ran a wildlife rehabilitation center and saved countless animals during this time she was dubbed a modern day pioneer running the center and caring for her family with no electricity or modern luxuries. Her family then settled in the small town of Rangely Colorado where she developed her love for the author Stephen King. She had every book he ever wrote. There she also shared with anyone she could her extreme knowledge of any famous person and little known facts about them. In the years after the loss of her beloved husband Don she enjoyed spending time with her beautiful family. The beautifully crazy life Shannon led is hard to sum up in a short story but we invite all to share any stories and join us for more when we gather for a celebration of life.

She survived by her brother Merritt Burke, son Michael Marrs, daughters(sons in law) Misty Mills (Rodney Stevens), Aleesha Stewart (Cody Stewart), and Dawnee Mills (Brenden Bates); grandsons Landon Stewart and Deegan Bates, and her fur child King Sampson.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Elliott and Betty Burke, sister DonnaRae Burke, daughter Christina Mills, and husband Donald Mills.

A celebration of life service will be held at a date and location to be determined and all will be notified soon.
