Sima Catherine Prion

Sima Catherine Prion (59) of Vernal, Utah passed away May 22nd, 2021 after a long courageous battle with M.S. in Tucson, Arizona. Sima was born on August 28th,1961 in Butte, Montana to her father Robert Sullivan and mother Frances Sullivan. She married and divorced having her son Michael. She then married John W. Prion on May 15th, 1987 in Tucson, Arizona. Sima was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister Mary. Survived by John W. Prion of Vernal, Utah, her sister Judy Heeszel of ClearLake Oaks, California, her son Michael Strutzel of Great Falls, Montana, her 4 step-children Lemuel Prion, Samuel Prion(Ronda Prion) Caren Melancon (Jeff Melancon) John D. Prion (Angela Prion). Sima was a grandmother to Michael Strutzel Jr. and had 10 step- grandchildren as well as 15 step - great grandchildren. Sima will always be remembered for her bright smile and cheerful spirit by all the people who knew her, and in the lives that she touched. She had a great love for animals and nature, she enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and always loved being around family and friends, and had an especially close relationship with her niece Jude Gaggero from California, they would often spend hours at a time on the phone talking to each other. She also had a great love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1p.m. at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Wednesday 11:30-12:30p.m. at the mortuary.
