Stanley Wayne Wheeler

Stanley Wayne Wheeler passed away on April 6, 2022 at the age of 79. Stan was born on February 25, 1943 to Marjorie Steffel and Stanley Peterson Wheeler in Salt Lake City, Utah. Stan married Sheila Ann Stewart on March 18, 1966 in Elko, Nevada. Stan enjoyed blacksmithing, fishing and arrowhead hunting. Stan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of the Free Masons and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. Stan was a colorful, unique character and will be missed by many. Stan is survived by his wife Sheila Stewart Wheeler, daughters: Julie Merkley, Lauri Wheeler, Charity Bruce, Emily Allen; sons: James Wheeler and Darren Lott; sisters Myra Heaton and Susan Smith, and brother Bill Wheeler. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Stan and Marge, and brother Ralph Wheeler. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 9, 2022 at 11:00am at the Jensen LDS Chapel (8775 East 6000 South). Visitation will be held from 9:30am ~ 10:45am at the church. Interment in the Jensen Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 11.
