Tamara Lyn Calder Pummell was born on March 13, 1963 and returned to her Heavenly Father on March 12, 2012. After a brief and courageous battle with a rare auto-immune disease she left this world to return into the loving arms of her Mother and baby boy, Brian.
Tammy (or Bambi, as lovingly referred to by her father) was born and raised as the youngest of four daughters to George and Wanda Calder of Vernal. From a young age, she inherited a deep love for the outdoors that stayed with her for her lifetime. During the winter, you could find her hitting the local Grizzly Ridge ski slope, hunting and snowmobiling with her family. As the seasons changed, she enjoyed spending weekends with her family water skiing and playing on the beaches of the local lakes.
When She met and married her sweetheart, Randy Pummell, they started their married life on a ranch in Montana. They then moved to Rock Springs where they started their family with the birth of their first daughter, Brittany. A couple years later, they decided to move back to Vernal to continue their family with the birth of their second daughter, Courtney.
Anyone who met Tammy immediately fell in love with her smile, her warmth and her infectious laugh. She was known as a kind and giving person, and an amazing friend and confidant to her daughter's, among many others. She loved dressing up with her family to trick-or-treat for Halloween and also loved playing practical jokes. Even in the ICU at the U of U hospital the last weeks of her life, she took the opportunity to play jokes on the doctor and nurses. She won the hearts of those who cared for her in the ICU unit. They cared very deeply for her, and became very close to her and her family. Tammy recently completed her Coaching training for Hockey and was looking forward to being able to coach. She was a member of the LDS church where she served as Compassionate Service Leader, Young Women's Teacher, Relief Society, and also taught in Primary. She had an amazing connection with the children in her classes. She had many friends throughout the school district by working in the PTA, Positive Action Program, substitute teaching and in the school lunch program. Tammy also work as a teller at First Security Bank and also as a teller in Hardin, MT at the Little Horn State Bank.
Tammy will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Pummell; her two amazing daughter's, Brittany and Courtney Pummell; her father George M.
