Terry J Boren

Terry Boren, age 82, passed away on January 27, 2026. He was born on October 24, 1943, to Arthur Marcus Boren and Erma Ellen Smuin. He was one of four siblings, twin brother Gerry, brother Demar and sister Sheri. He had 3 children: Bryan, Lori and Kelli. 5 grandchildren Jacob, Devan, Jessica, Dylan and Bailie. Terry was an ambitious, strong and hardworking man. He enlisted in the Army as a young man. He served in Vietnam and was awarded multiple honors and received a Purple Heart.

As a young adult, he began working in the mines in Bonanza. During that time, he also purchased and managed the TikiMotel in Vernal. Later, he became the owner and manager of Boren Trucking. For the remainder of his working career, he was responsible for the transportation of Gilsonite from the bonanza mines. His passion was the outdoors. He lived for the weekends when he would pack up and head to the mountain or hit the golf course. If not there, you would find him tinkering and perfecting the look of his yard or spiffing up whatever else he could find. You would seldom find him in front of the TV, unless there was a football game on.

Terry was a dedicated member of the LDS Church, and he invested deeply in his faith. He and his late wife Linda were sealed in the Bountiful Temple on March 14, 2013.

He is proceeded in death by his infant daughter Kelli, father Art, mother Erma, sister Sheri and wife Linda. He is survived by his children, Lori and Bryan, brothers Gerry and Demar and his grandchildren.

Funeral services for Terry J Boren, age 82, of Vernal, will be held Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6-8PM and Monday 9:45-10:45AM all at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 11.
