Timmy Doyle Slaugh passed away on May 9, 2021 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family at home. Tim was born January 21, 1941 in Vernal Utah to Lyle and Ruby Gardiner Slaugh. During his younger years, Tim enjoyed riding horses, sleeping outside and relentlessly teasing his younger sister Yoma. He was very athletic and lettered in wrestling while in high school. His graduating class was the first to attend the new high school all three years, The Class of 1959. Tim then joined the National Guard 115th engineer battalion and married the love of his life Emma Lajeane Jackson on September 29, 1961 and moved to Fort Louis, Washington where he was stationed during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After, discharge from the National Guard, he enlisted in regular Army for another four years of service in the 4th brigade. After servicing, Tim and LaJeane moved to Salt Lake City and started their family. Tim was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union and built many largescale projects including Weber State Auditorium, The LDS Church headquarters in downtown Salt Lake City, and countless LDS stake centers and churches throughout Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. Throughout his life, he enjoyed, camping, hunting, fishing, and dirt bike riding. He was an amazing gardener and loved planting and growing flowers. He always had a dog by his side and loved bird watching while sitting in his swing under the willow tree in the front yard. He loved the night sky and watching the stars. He was a member of the LDS church and served in many callings. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Farrell and Ted, his infant sister Kaye, Yoma and LaDonna. He is survived by his wife Emma LaJeane, Children, (Deanna) Troy Hineman, (Scott) Renee Slaugh, Kim Kobernick, (Jill) Charles Nielson, (Craig) Jessica Slaugh all of Vernal. He has 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two little spirits on the way. Funeral Services for Tim will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 at 11:00 at the Davis Chapel (1475 E 4000 S). A Viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday May 12th at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home ( 410 North 800 West) , from 6pm-8pm, and Thursday at the Davis Chapel from 9:45am-10:45am. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors provided by American Legion Post 11.
