Tony Rex Pummell

Tony Rex Pummell passed away on March 25, 2026, at the age of 85. Tony was born on March 12, 1941, to Bulia Cook Pummell and Cecil Pummell in Vernal, Utah. Tony married Margie Eline Abplanalp on March 23, 1960, in Vernal, Utah.

Tony loved working in the oilfield and running heavy equipment, it wasn't just a job it was his lifestyle. Tony worked on the Libby Dam in Montana in 1971 the moved back to Vernal and working in the oilfield until he retired. After he retired he liked to do leather work, read and ride his 4 wheeler up in the field to look at the deer.

He is survived by his wife Margie, children; Randy (Shellete), Rick (Roxanne), Kirt (Baxteen), Kevin (Christy), Lane, Tonette, Levi (Sandee), Torie, and Cole (Triana). Many grandkids and great grandkids. Siblings Carol Rich, Laurie Stewart, Colleen Lawson and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Terry and Brad, granddaughters Angel and Kairie, brother-in-law's Don Rich and Butch Stewart, daughter-in-law's Debbie, Tammy and Karen.

Visitation for Tony will be held Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00pm~8:00pm at the mortuary (410 N 800 W). A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
