Tye Justin Johnson

Tye Johnson passed away on August 6, 2026 at the age of 55. Tye was born on February 17, 1971, to Sherry Marie "Dusty" and Clayton "Clay" Johnson at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Tye worked in the oil supply and energy industries for most of his life, transporting resources and goods in his later years. Not only did he bring goods and services to cities across the U.S., but he also brought his charm and love of company everywhere he went. Tye engaged with people over good food, good music, or a good drink. He loved to spend time out in nature enjoying activities like riding, racing, fishing, hunting, and exploring.

Tye had a fondness for competing with friends and family in smaller activities as well, like cards, darts, pool, video games, and especially arm wrestling-but most of all, competing against his grandchildren.

He is survived by his father, Clay Johnson; his nieces Kayloni, Brittiny, and Samantha Johnson, along with their mother, Cindy Johnson; his son, Kelly Johnson; and his grandchildren Mariah, Thayden, Titus, and Lilianna Johnson, and their mother, Marissa Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Marie "Dusty" Simonson Johnson; his brother, Travis Clay Johnson; and his son, Christian Earl Mieure.

We will be holding a viewing for family and friends on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ashley Valley Mortuary in Vernal, Utah.
