Valneva Tom Dalton Steed, 65 of Vernal, UT. Began her Spiritual journey, Saturday, March 27, 2021, in Provo, UT surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 20, 1955 in Roosevelt, UT to Ora Tyler and Richard Tom. Valneva was raised in Whiterocks, Utah until her father passed and her mother moved the family to Salmon, Idaho until she was adopted along with her brother Johnny by the Dalton family and was raised in Utah. She attended school until eighth grade and she later became a CNA and work at the local health care facilities. Valneva was a very strong-willed, outspoken, sweet, loving woman who loved her family, they meant the world to her. She enjoyed being part of everything they did until her health started to decline. She especially loved her fur babies Zeke, Rocky, and Gizzy. She enjoyed nature such as going camping, fishing and going to Big Springs. She took drives to relax and unwind enjoying god's greatest creation the outdoors. Valneva helped raise her niece Gena Horrocks and had several adopted children throughout her life that called her mom or grandma. Valneva was married to Alfred Stevens, to this union they had daughter Jennifer Lynn, they later divorced. She then married David Hewitt, and to this union had son Timothy Mathew and daughter Rebecca Elizabeth, they later divorced. She married Robert Taylor they later divorced, she married Paul Murtgh, whom she later divorced. Valneva met her longtime companion Kerby Steed whom she lived with for 20 years until they married on August 20, 2018 where they resided in Vernal, UT until her passing. Valneva was proceeded in death by her, Paternal Grand Parents Ignacio Tom & Wilhelmia Wamiore, Maternal Grand Parents John Racehorse & Jessie Tyler, Father Richard Tom a member of the Ute Indian Tribe of Uintah & Ouray of Fort Duchesne, UT, Mother, Ora Tyler, a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, ID, Brothers George Marshall, John Marshall, Adrian Ray Quanda, John Dalton aka Jonas Tyler, Sisters Christine Marshall, and Richardina T. Horrocks. Valneva is survived by her husband Kirby Steed of Vernal, UT. Her sister Marlene (Marie) Quanda of Fort Hall, ID, Stepsisters Lucie Washakie of Ogden, UT and Amy Hardin of Crow Heart, WY, brothers, Lew Allen Martin of Boise, ID, James Tyler of Fort Hall, ID, and Stepbrother Oren Washakie of Fort Hall, ID. Children, Jennifer (Steven) Horrocks of Roosevelt, UT, Timothy Matthew Hewitt of Roosevelt, UT, Rebecca (Joseph) Wrathall of Springville, UT, and niece Gena Horrocks of Roosevelt, UT, her fur babies Zeke, Rocky, and Gizzy, 11 grandchildren, StevenRay, Richard, and Samantha Horrocks all of Roosevelt, UT, Heaven (Jay) Hancock, Timothy Skye Hewitt, Gabriel Hewitt, and Camren Paris, all of Salem, Oregon. Fur grand babies, Razzy and Sassy of Springville, UT, Earl Simmons of Roosevelt, UT, LaTreon Stone Simmons, and Meridyth Simmons of Scranton, N.D. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives who reside in Idaho, Utah, and Oregon. Family and friends may attend a visitation on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 6-8 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West, Vernal, UT. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and burial services will follow, she will then be laid to rest at the John Harmes Cemetery, Whiterocks, UT.
