Vona Mae Walker

Our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma Vona Walker, age 100, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2020 in Vernal, Utah. Vona was born on December 6, 1919 in Vernal, Utah to Walter Eugene Penfold and Charlene Longacre Penfold. Vona was the second of eight children. She married Alan Dale Walker on June 28, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Vona is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Dale, they were married for 77 years, three sisters, one brother, and one grandson. She is survived by her son, daughter, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Vona enjoyed many crafts; including quilting and crochet. She was a great cook and welcomed family and friends to their home for a great meal or a treat. The family would like to thank the Uintah Care Center for their compassionate loving care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:30PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday 1:30-2:30PM at the Mortuary.
