Wendell Kyle Johnson, age 57, passed away peacefully May 28, 2023 at the Holladay Home Health Center in Holladay, Utah. Kyle was born to Darrell and Ethel Johnson in Roosevelt, Utah on December 28, 1965. As he grew up he played Little League baseball. In High School he was the football and baseball manager. He was always involved in some type of sports; if not playing then serving as a team manager. His favorite football team was the Denver Broncos. He seldom missed one of their games on TV. Kyle grew up in Roosevelt, Manila, Spring Glen and Vernal, Utah. In Spring Glen and Vernal he became active in the 4-H program. He raised and showed pigs and sheep. The 4-H shows were in Vernal, Ferron, and Duchesne. Kyle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Michigan Lansing Mission. This mission was located in Michigan. Indiana, and the northern part of Ohio. After his mission he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. In Salt Lake he worked for the Pride Window & Glass Company. He helped prepare bids and maintain good relations between the company and the purchaser. One of their biggest contracts was with the FBI. Kyle's company was to install the windows and blinds when the FBI built their big office near the Salt Lake airport. Kyle worked on this project for several years and was well liked by the FBI staff. They even encouraged him to apply for a job with them because of his training as a security officer with the Real soccer team. When Kyle passed away, his dad called the FBI office to let them know. The receptionist knew Kyle well, was very complimentary of him, and said she would send a notice to all the staff. While Kyle was still in the IHC hospital in Salt Lake, the FBI staff sent Kyle a large, framed picture of their new building and they all signed their names on the picture. While working at the Pride Window and Glass company, Kyle also worked as a security officer on weekends and evenings at the Real soccer stadium, at concerts, and other venues, including the Utah State Fair. Kyle enjoyed being a part of the crowd management team at the Real soccer stadium and supervised a crew of 20 people. In December of 2022 Kyle and 59 other members of the security team drove to Los Angeles and helped in the crowd management efforts at the Rose Bowl and the Super Bowl. After these two games, the security group traveled to Las Vegas for the National Collegiate Football Championship game and again assisted in the crowd management efforts. On March 31, 2033 Kyle suffered a severe stroke, followed by several other strokes. He spent the next 14 months in hospitals or rehab centers in Salt Lake. Kyle is survived by his parents; Brad Johnson (brother); Carrie/Terril Gardner (sister/brother-in-law); Carma/Glade Hardy (sister/brother-in-law); and several nieces and nephews. (Nieces: Marinda Asay, Britany Merkley, Millie Wyatt; Nephews: Lawton Asay, Taylor Wyatt, and Bryan Johnson).
