William (Bill) Frank Ashdown Hackler, age 75 of Vernal, passed away in the presence of his loving wife Margaret on March 28, 2025, in Roosevelt, Utah. Bill called Redeeming Grace his home church for over 35 years. He loved Jesus and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. He is now Pain free in the arms of his Lord. Bill was born on September 29, 1949, in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah and later adopted by Betty and Frank Hackler and they raised him here in Vernal. Bill joined the Army and served in Vietnam where he received an Accommodation for Bravery. He loved working on vehicles and was a great mechanic. He also enjoyed his quiet life with the love of his life Margaret of 18 years, whom he married on November 9, 2006, and his beloved dog Oaty. Bill is survived by his wife; Margaret (Caldwell) Hackler, sisters; Jane Massey, Marie MaCalester, brother-in-law; Jerry Yack, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his adopted parents; Frank and Betty Hackler, Birth mom; Beverly Edwards, brothers; Jim Ashdown, and George Ashdown. Graveside services for Bill will be held Saturday, April 5th at 11:00am in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 11, and the Patriot Riders of Utah. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening rom 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Mr. B you will be missed!
