William (Johnson) Sprouse

Casey Johnson, formerly William Casey Sprouse, 60, of Vernal, Utah, passed away on December 18, 2025, due to a heart attack. Born on January 19th, 1965, Nebraska.

Our dad was hard-working and dedicated to anything he put his mind to. He worked over 30 years in the oil and gas industry where he was known for his ingenuity, excellence, and dedication to employee's health/safety and quality of work. He loved a challenge and loved being able to fix things. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his friends.

Anyone that knew him well knew that he would do anything for his children. His main goal in life was for his children to have a better life than he did. He was a man, that would stop and help someone in need, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. One of the few types of people left today that would happily, give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

Dad's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He was an avid sports fan, racing/motorsports building engines and driving fast. He absolutely loved playing pool first and foremost. Often spending his weeknights and weekends playing pool league or just shooting around with friends. His love for pool was something he shared with anyone who would listen, most prominently his oldest son, Bret, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.

The life he built in Thailand surrounded by friends who also loved the game, gave him happiness and comfort through some tough times.He is survived by his children, Bret, Casey, Cassey, and Devan. Grandchildren, Kasin, Nevaeh, William, Scotlyn, Elias, and Kenny, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Graveside services for Casey will be held on December 27th Roosevelt Memorial Park, in Roosevelt, Utah at 11:30am. Visitatio for family and friends will be held that morning from 9:45am ~ 10:45am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bret or Casey to help with funeral costs. We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
