William "Fred" Richins

Our Precious, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather William Fred Richins. Went to be with our Savior, Lord, Jesus Christ and his loved ones on January 7th, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family in Neola.He was born on February 19th, 1927 in Provo, Utah to Ellis William and Sarah Darlean Richins. Fred was raised in Ogden, Utah and attended the School for the Deaf and Blind, where he learned Sign Language and gained many friends. He became well known throughout the Deaf Community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.He worked as an electrical motor winder, and owned a shoe repair business for 19 years. Fred started a business named Pam's Import Gifts, where he would travel to different fairs and events throughout Utah selling wind chimes, pictures and birdhouses that he made by hand. He had lots of fun throughout his life and made so many memories with everyone he knew.Fred loved to go Camping, Hunting and Fishing. He was a Fisherman at heart, it was his passion. Fred knew all the tricks to Fly Fishing and loved to share his fishing stories with anyone who would listen.Fred married Oma Lee Loveless in 1946 and later divorced. They had four children Jane (Richard) Jeffs, Bonnie Richins Pertl, Kenneth (Ruby) Richins and Dan (Mary) Richins. Later on Fred fell madly in love with Pamela June Cook. They were married September 2nd, 1973 in Elko, Nevada. They had two children Freda (Mark) Daniels and Marco Fredrick Richins. They spent 47 wonderful years of marriage together. They were sealed for all time and eternity in the Ogden, Utah Temple on September 2nd, 1983. Fred has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren with more on the way.Fred was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, great grandchildren, his former wife and many other family members and friends.As difficult as it was, we chose to honor dad's wishes. A private graveside service was held on January 8th, 2020. Burial took place in the Hayden Cemetery.Services and care were entrusted to the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
