Willie Lee Bates Jr.

Willie Less Bates Jr., 57, passed away on July 1, 2026.

Willie was born on April 4, 1969, in Denton, Texas, to Willie Bates Sr. and Erma Rogers Bates. He was known for his love of working on cars, riding bikes, and spending time with his family and friends. Above all, he treasured the time he shared with his daughter, Enid Sammuels.

Willie is survived by his beloved companion, Camille Appawora; his daughter, Enid Sammuels; his siblings, Felicia Bates of Texas, and Derrick Bates, Fedrick Bates, and Timothy Body of Denver, Colorado. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews residing in Utah, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Bates Sr. and Erma Rogers Bates, and Willie Bates Appawora III.

In accordance with Willie's wishes, no formal services will be held. He wanted his family and friends to know that he loved each and every one of you, and he will be deeply missed.
