Obituary

Berta Marie Ellifritz Slaugh, age 90, was born Sept 14, 1929 to Alfred and Maggie Mae Ellifritz. She had 5 brothers, Albert, Mark, Pete, Dan and Duane Ellifritz. She married Darrel C. Slaugh in Elko, Nevada on May 27, 1948. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They later divorced. Berta and Darrel had 5 children, Sheila, Bryce, Kathie, Shelley and Brian.

Berta loved to be outdoors camping and fishing, She loved the wildflowers of many kinds. She loved to do hand embroidery pillowcases and make blankets. She loved to play cards of all kinds. She also loved to tell stories. Berta loved to have visits from her grandchildren and children. She was a very strong-willed lady that was loved by all who knew her.

Berta passed away on April 19, 2020 at home with her children around her. She was ready to go home and see her mother and grandmother.

Berta is survived by Darrel Slaugh, Bryce and Londa Slaugh (son), Kathie Davies (daughter), Shelley and Barry Hatch (daughter), Brian and Teralene Slaugh (son). 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.

Berta is preceded in death by Sheila Slaugh (daughter), Alfred Ellifritz(father) Maggie Mae Ellifritz (mother), Albert, Mark, Pete, Dan and Duane Elifritz (brothers).

Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. We would like to thank them for all they did for Berta and our family and for the nurses that took care of her for so long. We could not of done it without them.
