Billy Mac Atwood

Billy Mac Atwood passed away on April 28, 2021 at the age of 72. Mac was born on January 5, 1949 to Fred and Mary Atwood in Vernal, Utah. Mac married Kay Barker on December 14, 1968 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mac enjoyed hunting, teasing, working on and restoring his old 30 model A, camping with the kids, fishing, and going to auctions. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, close or afar. He also enjoyed farming with his brother and son-in-laws. He worked in the Gilsonite mines as a miner and Salty Oaks Construction as a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, his seven children, Eric (Bobbi) Atwood, Stacy (Reed) Sleight, Tracy (Chad) Perry, Penni (Dean) Atwood, Bridget Atwood (Tracy Breeze), Chet (Brandy) Atwood, Colt (Alexis) Atwood, 25 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Atwood, father Fred Atwood, brothers Delmore Atwood, Alvie Atwood, Ronald Atwood, Dewey Atwood, Tommy Atwood, Eldon Atwood, Freddie Atwood, sisters Dorthy Oaks and Ione Robbins.

Services were held April 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Vernal Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank everyone for the food, money, flowers, and the love they have shown for Mac, Kay, and their children. We will miss him a lot and loved him, he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Thank you to the funeral home, sheriff's department, and ambulance services. We appreciate all that was done for us in this difficult time. Thank you to my seven children for being with me. -Kay Atwood and family.
