Carol Williamson Obituary

Beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, Carol Marie Wahlin Williamson returned to her heavenly home and heavenly parents on December 21, 2018, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, from causes incident to age.Carol Was born in Scofield, Utah on January 3, 1932. The daughter of Marie Cark Hammond and Oskar Houtz Wahlin. Carol lived in Schofield, Clear Creek, Price, Fairview, Ogden, Orem and later moved to and raised her children in Vernal, Utah.Carol married Willis Anderson, August 6, 1949. From this marriage they had one child, Willis Elroy Anderson. They later divorced. She then married Glen K. Hansen Sr. They had seven children: Sandra Lee Westwood, Julie Oberhansly, Susan Smuin, Glen K. Hansen Jr., Jill Workman, Kalene Gamble and Wayne Hansen. They later divorced. She then married Wade Williamson. From this marriage they had one son, David Wade Williamson.Carol was blessed with many gifts. She was very artistic and had a beautiful voice. In High School she was a member of the marching band. She was a majorette and twirled a baton. While lining in Orem, she painted Thanksgiving and Christmas scenes in the windows of many department stores. Carol was hard worker. She had many jobs throughout her life. She worked at a turkey plant in Moroni, Utah. She worked as a security guard at the Bonanza Power Plant and as a CNA and Pink Lady. Of all her talents and jobs she had throughout her lifetime, Carol loved to bring joy to people through song. She preformed with the Ralph Malachi Band while living in Orem, Utah. She was member of the Honey Tones in Vernal, Utah. She later entertained at the Spirit Lake Lodge singing with George Coonradt. The most important place she loved to sing was in her home singing to her children. Carol always tried to expand her musical gift and was recently teaching herself to play the Ukulele.Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. She was a faithful member. She served a mission in the Abilene/Arlington Texas Mission in 1987-1988. She loved the gospel and she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a perfect example of following her Savior. Her testimony was steadfast. She was very kind and compassionate to all she knew and met. Carol made friends very easily. She was devoted friend. Carol loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. She had nine children, 34 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her grandchildren will miss their grandma (FLAME).Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her eldest son Willis Elroy Anderson, Her daughter Robyn Susan Smuin, her youngest son David Wade Williamson, grandson Marwin Wayne Jackson (J.R.), grandson Bucky Westwood, daughter in law Amy Hansen, siblings Kathryn Louise Vestal, Charles Dee Wahlin, Leslie Hammond, Ronnie Hammond, Donald Hammond, Debra Ann Hammond, Kay Salazar, and an infant sister.She is survived by her children Sandra Westwood (Stephen), Julie Oberhansly, son in law De Von Smuin, Glen K Hansen, (Diane), Jill Workman (Ronnie), Kalene Gamble (Chris), Wayne Hansen and brother Gary Hammond.The family would like to thank the Nurses, CNAS and staff at the Uintah Care Center for the compassionate care provided to her. They would also like to thank Dr. Adam Nielson, the ER staff, Dr. Shurtliff, the Med/Surg Nurses and Canyon Hospice.Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00AM at the Ashley 2nd Ward Chapel (3040 North Vernal Avenue). A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Saturday 9:45-10:45AM at the church.
