Danetta Vandelee Preston passed away from a stroke, on her mother's birthday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 30. Danetta was born on November 21, 1990 to Edina Ranney Priddy and Ronald Lee Preston in Louisville, Kentucky.
At the age of two, Danetta moved to Utah. She graduated from Layton High School in 2012. Danetta participated in the Special Olympics and the Can Do Crew with her special friends. She loved animals, music, and coloring, but most of all she loved her Savior and going to the temple. She was an inspiration to many who loved her dearly.
Danetta is survived by her loving mother, Edina Priddy, of Vernal; her father, Ronald Preston, of Monroe, Louisiana; her sister, Shantel Johnson; and brothers, Justin Simmons and Jonathan Preston. She is also survived by four nephews and one niece.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kent and Virginia Johnston of Clinton, Utah and her uncle, Nathaniel Napolean Ranney.
Services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vernal LDS 6th Ward, 850 West 100 North, Vernal. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, April, 30, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West, and on Saturday from 09:45-10:45 at the Vernal 6th Ward. Interment will be in the Roosevelt City Cemetery where she will be buried next to her best friend.
