Diana Lee (Estes) Powell

Diana Lee (Estes) Powell passed away peacefully Sunday August 27, 2023 at the age of 79. She will finally be reunited with her husband whom she has missed for many years. Diana was born June 3, 1944 to Dorothey Lorraine (Peters) Estes and Harvey Mac Estes in Alton, Illinois.

Diana met and married the love of her life, A. Baxter Powell, with whom she spent many happy years. She enjoyed watching British mysteries, sewing, crocheting, and collecting nick nacks and animals. There were always a couple of pets, if not more, running around the house.

Diana loved telling stories of her life experiences with anyone who would listen. She never met a stranger and could start a conversation with almost anyone.

Diana is preceded in death by her husband, Baxter; grandson's Christopher Smith and Deton Powell; son-in-law Bill Morrow, her parents, brother's Clarence, Forrest, and James. Two sisters, Janet, and Cindy.

She is survived by her children Dorthey (the late Bill) Morrow, Baxteen (Kirt) Pummell and Baxter Powell Jr. Diana has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Nyelly for taking such wonderful care of Diana. Also, Paige Stewart and everyone at Canyon Home Health that cared for Diana. They all are very talented and caring. Thank you to Holly and the staff at Rocky Mountain Landmark Assisted Living for the care and friendship they have given Diana.

Funeral services for Diana will be held Friday September 1, 2023 at 11:00am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friend will be held Thursday from 6PM ~ 8PM and Friday 9:45am ~ 10:45am all at the funeral home. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
