Douglas Rolfe Obituary

Douglas Jordan Rolfe passed away May 4, 2021 at the age of 85. Douglas was born to Beatrice Filisetti and Ralph E. Rolfe on September 4, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona. Douglas's mother passed away when he was five months old. After her passing Douglas and his siblings lived with their maternal grandmother in Phoenix. Sometime later, his father Ralph joined the Arizona National Guard and they moved to St. Patrick Mission in Oklahoma while their father trained at Ft. Sill Oklahoma.

Ralph was sent overseas when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Douglas stayed at the Catholic Mission for a couple years after which his aunt Neva Stratton picked up the children and they lived with her family in Duncan, Arizona until WWII ended and their father was able to come home. Once his father got home the family moved to Vernal, Utah in 1946. Once the family moved to Vernal, Ralph married Dolores Rolfe. Dolores helped raise Douglas into adulthood.

Douglas made his home in Vernal, Utah. He owned and operated the Empire Club for many years. After closing the Empire Club, he drove truck and operated a hotshot business. Douglas enjoyed to golf and trapshoot.

Douglas is survived by his two brothers George Rolfe (San Francisco, CA) and Kent McCurdy (Vernal, UT).

He is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Fillisetti Rolfe, father Ralph E. Rolfe, and stepmother Dolores Rolfe.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:00p.m. at the Vernal Memorial Park (1700 South 500 East). Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com
