Harry Watson Obituary

Harry James Watson, JR (Jim) passed away on June 24, 2022 at the age of 70. Jim was born on November 22, 1951 to L'Marie Ames Watson and Harry James Watson, SR in Kimball, Nebraska. He was the oldest living child to that union. He had three siblings, Steve, Bonnie, and Kip.

He married his best friend, Donna Sue Dodd on March 4, 1972. To that union a son, Shane Michael and a daughter, Melissa Megan was born. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in March.

He lived and worked in Kimball for most of his life in the oil industry. He and his wife Donna moved to Wyoming after both kids had graduated. They went into the consulting business and ran their own business for the last 16 years. He traveled many placed with the oilfield. He and Donna settled in Mesquite, Nevada where they bought his dream house on the 11th tee box of the Falcon Ridge golf course. He was so happy to have everyone over to swim and BBQ, especially his grandchildren.

In recent years, his health required them to move to Vernal, Utah to be closer to their children and his neurologist. A quicker retirement than he had hoped.

Jim fought so hard to stay with us but his heart gave out. His passing has left us shocked and shattered. He was a fighter, stubborn and strong, would do anything to help anyone who asked (even if you weren't sure you needed help). He loved fiercely, never forgot to say be careful and I love you when you left or hung up. You knew you could call when you screwed up. He'd cheer with you when things were good, he'd hold your hand when things were rough, and would love you while you figured things out. He wasn't always easy to love but he always made sure we knew he loved us. 70 years wasn't nearly long enough, but we are so glad you can finally rest.

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna, son Shane (Katrina), daughter Melissa (Brian), brother Steve (Patty), sister Bonnie (Lance), and brother Kip. Seven grandchildren, Eric (Nancy), Christopher (Mollie), Annalisa, William, Nevaeh, Emma, and Victoria. Four great grandchildren, Everleigh, Aria, Alexandria, and Easton. And many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by an infant sister, Cathy, his father Harry, his mother L'Marie, a nephew Bryce, and a grandson, Tabor.
