Jeffrey Allen Shepherd

Jeffrey Allen Shepherd, age 63 of Vernal, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 6, 2023 after valiant battle against cancer. Jeff was born on June 24, 1960 to Oren I. Shepherd and Joyce Adele Thurgood in Provo, Utah.

Jeff was working in the mines in Price, Utah when he met and married Christine Lupcho on June 23, 1983. They had three sons together, Jacob, Joshua and Trey. Jeff and Christine later divorced.

Jeff moved to Vernal Utah to work for Deseret Power as a supervisor. He later fulfilled his dream of working for himself as a cement contractor in the Uintah Basin. He labored hard his whole life and had the respect of many because of his dedicated and honorable work ethic.

Throughout his life, Jeff loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, hunting, and fishing. He was charitable to those in need, especially his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Jeff is survived by his sons; Joshua (Mesha) Shepherd, and Trey Shepherd, grandchildren; Jayden and Jaxton Shepherd, siblings; Linda (Gene) Mahana, Clark Shepherd, Kathie (Dean) Hill, Sandra Neil, Cheryl (Jacob) Boone, Dallin (Kimberly) Ekins, Maryann Spring Leduc and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his oldest son; Jacob, father; Oren Shepherd, mother; Joyce Cross, sister-in-law; Cindy Shepherd, nephew; Joshua Shepherd and niece; Lori Mahana.

Funeral services for Jeff will be held Saturday October 21st at 11:00am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will from 9:00am ~ 10:45am all at the mortuary. Interment will be on Monday at 10:00am in Vernal Memorial Park. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
