Kayle Gardiner Obituary

Despite a valiant fight for his life, Kayle Gardiner, 45, of Vernal, Utah returned home to his Heavenly Father on April 17th, 2022 due to cancer. His three children, parents, and siblings surrounded him when he peacefully passed away.

Kayle was born June 29th, 1976 in Vernal, UT to Lee and Pamela Gardiner. He graduated from Uintah High School in 1994 and then fought fires for the BLM before attending a year of college at Southern Utah University where he walked on to their football team. He fought wildland fires another season and then attended a year of college at Weber State University before moving home to Vernal.

In 1999, he met and married Kim Deets. They welcomed their son, Kasen Gardiner, into their family in 2000, followed by their daughters Kenna Gardiner in 2003, and Kaylee Gardiner in 2005. From that time forward, he was a devoted father and always tried to love and support his children. Kayle was his children's biggest fan and encouraged them to make good choices, work hard to become the best version of themselves, and be happy. His three children were the loves of his life and he considered being their dad an honor and his greatest accomplishment. For over 20 years, Kayle worked for National Oil Well (NOW) in various roles and positions. He was respected, admired, and loved by those he worked with.

Kayle enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved spending time with family and friends doing his favorite things such as camping, fishing, hunting, riding motorbikes, and pulling epic practical jokes. He also loved all things sports and was an accomplished athlete. Kayle carried himself with a quiet confidence that was felt and respected. His wit and charm were contagious and seemed to put everyone in his presence at ease. Although we are devastated to lose such an incredible person in our life, we find great comfort in knowing we will be with him again. Until then, we know he will continue to be his children's biggest fan and our family's champion and guardian angel. God be with you until we meet again to our beloved father, son, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his children: Kasen Gardiner, Kenna Gardiner, Kaylee Gardiner; parents: Lee and Pamela Gardiner; siblings: Cory Gardiner, Greg Gardiner (Becky), Trisha Gardiner; Aunts and Uncles: Dale Soderquist (Sherrie), Linda Soderquist, Carol Smith (Mike), Ted Gardiner (Patty), and Brud Gardiner; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dwain Soderquist (Gladys) and Fat Udell Gardiner (Russie); Uncle Eddie Oaks; and cousins Ryan Gardiner and Scott Soderquist.
