Kent Limb Obituary

Kent Marshall Limb passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 83. Kent was born July 17, 1940, to Emma Arema Marshall & Earl Limb, of Minersville Utah.

Kent Graduated from Beaver High School in 1958, where he lettered in Football, Basketball and Track and was in the top 10 of his class. After High School, he attended CSU in Cedar City from 1958-1960.

Kent was then called on an LDS Mission to the Great Lakes Mission from 1960-1962. In May of 1962, while on his mission he was involved in a terrible car accident, he had been knocked unconscious for two weeks and was unexpected to survive. Through a series of miraculous events and blessings, his life was spared. He was later flown to the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah to make his long recovery.

In September of 1962 he attended college at USU in Logan, Utah. While on his mission, he started writing a young woman, Judy Bastian, whom he was introduced through a mutual friend. After returning home from his mission, they dated and were married shortly after in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5,1963. Two children were born while they lived in Salt Lake City. In 1968 they moved to Vernal, Utah where Kent was a teacher at the high school and coached cross country and track. His track team won two consecutive state titles in 1971 and 1972. They also had one more child during that time. In 1977 he and Judy bought the Twin Cinemas and owned the theaters for seven years.

Kent was always looking to stay busy, if he wasn't on some type of ball field coaching, he was fishing, if he wasn't fishing you could find him in his yard or garden checking on his tomatoes or watching sports on tv. He also served in many callings in the Vernal 3rd and 8th wards. Kent retired from teaching in 2001, it was then they started working in the temple, and in 2003 Judy was also able to retire from teaching. Shortly after retiring Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away in 2005. They created a wonderful life together in the 42 years they were married. They were blessed with three children and many grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

In 2006, Kent met and married Lynette Bingham. During their 16 years of marriage Kent was able to meet new friends, enjoy new experiences, and visit new places he had never been.

After the passing of Lynette, Kent rekindled a relationship from the past with an old high school friend, Marilyn Anderson. They were married in 2023 and their time together was cut short when Kent was diagnosed with a brain tumor resulting from melanoma. Marilyn and her family were there for him through every step of the way and his best friend and supporter until the end.

Kent is survived by his Wife Marilyn Anderson; his three children, Greg (Heather) Limb, Tori (Kevin) Keel, Gordon (Erika) Limb; his two brothers, Richard Limb and Gil (Elaine) Limb; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Limb; mother, Arema Limb; father, Earl Limb; brother, Fred Limb; and wife, Lynette Limb.
