Linda Beseler Obituary

Linda Sue Beseler, age 62, of Vernal, passed away Thursday July 8, 2021 in Salt Lake City, with her loving husband Steven by her side. Linda was born July 3, 1959, to Peggy Jean Burling, and Allen Reinholt Cross in Cortez, Colorado. Linda married Steven Beseler in Moab, Utah on September 30, 1983, where they began their lives together.

Linda enjoyed the company of many co-workers and customers as exemplified by her ten years at the local City Market Grocery Store and the Maverick Convenience Store. While working at Maverick the movie crew was in town filming Thelma and Louise. The store was shorthanded, and Linda was working two cash registers and 3 lines of customers. Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis were in line to pay for their selections before heading out to the film set. Linda looked up at Susan Sarandon and said, "You look just like one of those two girls in town making the movie, there both very beautiful women." Susan Sarandon did not miss a beat. She said very politely, "Why thank you ma'am." Linda was so impressed with Susan she didn't say a word to Geena Davis.

After relocating to Vernal in 2004, she began another career at the local Walmart. She continued to deliver excellence customer service with that beautiful infectious smile until 2016 when a stroke forced her into retirement.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Steven Beseler, her two sons: Robert and William, and daughter-in-law Alyssa all from Vernal. Sisters: Janice Martinez McClellan (Richard) of Cortez, Colorado, Michelle Gill Earthly and family of Cortez, Colorado, Sherry Boren and family of Roosevelt, Utah. Brothers: Rick Cross and family of Delta, Colorado, Rex Cross and family of Roosevelt, Utah, Randy Gill and family of Mesa, Arizona, Lee Gill of Denver, Colorado, Douglas Gill and family of Denver, Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Peggy Cross Gill, Allen Cross. Her two brothers, Melvin Cross and Gary Cross.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com Services and care under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
