Linda Rae (Sorenson) Madsen

Linda Rae (Sorenson) Madsen, age 71, our sweet, kind, loving, and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife of 50 years, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on March 17, 2023.

Linda fought a very short battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She had the most beautiful soul and was so full of love and compassion, she shared it with everyone around her.

Some of Linda's favorite things to do were camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. She was filled with so much joy whenever she was around her family. Anything that involved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was sure to put a sparkle in her eye. Love is just a four-letter word, but it encompasses everything about our momma.

Linda was born and raised in Roosevelt, Utah to Sherman and Dolly Sorenson. She was the second of seven children. She met and married the love of her life, John Madsen and together, they raised four amazing daughters. Her heart was so full of love that she shared it with everyone she knew.

Linda is survived by her loving husband John, her children, Misty and Gary Lankford, Carol Madsen, Johanna and Craig Smith, and Julia Madsen; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; siblings Maria McQuiston, Ann Boren, Susan Pedockie, Ruth and Bruce Anderson, Jay and Deb Sorenson, and Brenda and Keith Babcock. And we can't leave out her precious, furry companion Wilson.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Sherm and Dolly and by a wonderful son-in-law Charley Robert Coleman, Jr.

A celebration of life for Linda will be held Saturday March 25, 2023 from 1pm ~ 3pm at the Vernal Elks Lodge. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
