Marjorie D. Peterson (1934-2024)
Marge was born on August 23, 1934 to Lavon and John Dickamore in Slaterville, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School and then left to serve her New England Mission at the age of 23. While serving her mission, she met her eternal companion Larry Peterson. After both of their missions were over, they came back to Utah and were married for time and all eternity on April 27, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. During their marriage, they proceeded to live in Granger, Scottsdale, Kaysville, Redbuff, Sacramento, and eventually made a home in Vernal with their five children. Marge enjoyed working at Vernal Drug and serving many different church callings as well as working in the Vernal Temple while raising her family. Larry and Marge spent many years traveling to Alaska and even made a trip to China.
Her absolute joy in life was her family. She was a natural listener that would remember details about everyone's lives and made them feel welcome and accepted. Marge had a smile that was so genuine and welcoming that you couldn't help but smile along with her. In her spare time, she enjoyed games, reading, sudoku and crossword puzzles, and she spent many years completing extractions for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband Larry and five children Michelle (Brian) Golden, Craig (Donna) Peterson, Cynthia (Jason) Llewelyn, Cary (Amiee) Peterson, and Karinda (Jeff) Jackson. Her memory will also live on through her fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She will be welcomed into loving arms by her parents, six of her siblings, and one grandson.
We want to give a special thanks to everyone at hospice and especially Paige Stewart for the special attention and care that she provided to our beloved Momjorie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Ashley 2nd Ward LDS Chapel (3040 North Vernal Avenue). Interment will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
