Marline Holfeltz Obituary

Marline Kay Holfeltz passed peacefully from this life on October 8, 2019 in Vernal, Utah. She was born in Manila, Utah on August 16, 1937 in the same house as her father. She was the youngest daughter of Harold and Lula (Kidd) Twitchell. She moved to Vernal when she was 2 years old and spent much of her life there. She attended Central Elementary and Uintah High School where she graduated in 1955.

As a child she loved swimming and spent most of the summer getting to know the other kids at the pool. She liked to read mysteries and true life histories. She found her true love and got married on October 15, 1955 to Floyd Holfeltz in the Vernal 1st Ward Chapel by Ralph Siddaway. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in September of 1957. They spent the first 15 years in Worland Wyoming and Casper Wyoming. They moved back to Vernal in 1968. She was the mother of three girls and two boys. Terry, Gail, Norma, Mike, and Cristie. She has 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Marline worked in school lunch for 12 years. She loved seeing the kids every day. She liked to do oil paintings of landscapes, collect stamps and unusual rocks, explore new areas, and go on trips. She loved to go to Melon Days in Green River, Utah every year and camp out for a week in the desert.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She belonged to the Vernal 1st Ward and then to the Vernal 4th Ward. She had many callings including primary president and she served in the library for 28 years where she made many life long friends with those who served with her.

Marline is survived by her children, Terry, Norma, Mike, and Cristie. Her grandchildren: Heather, Phil, Nicole, Natalie, Derik, Marlana, Jared, Brandon, Devin, Cumorah, Lucas, Alexia, Brielle, Maci, Dominic, Kyle, Hallie, Jocelyn, and Olesya; her great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild. Her sisters Helen (Dewey) Paulson, Connie Boren, and Sylvia Chew.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd, her daughter Gail, her parents Harold and Lula, and her grandparents Thomas and Mary (Bowes) Kidd.

A call came from above to send a loved one home. Her earthly trials are over. We will never forget her.
