Minnie Oaks Obituary

Minnie Evelyn Oaks passed away on January 29, 2020 at the age of 88. Evelyn was born on July 26, 1931 to Vera E. Knotts and Joseph H. Ball in Elkins, Arkansas. Evelyn married Harold Duane Oaks on April 21, 1949 in Gallup, New Mexico.

Evelyn enjoyed her family and making new friends. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, canning, gardening, cooking, genealogy, and many other interest. She served in the Vernal, Utah Temple and as a Primary Worker in her Church. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Gary Elam (Annie) Oaks, Rick (Delaine) Oaks, Judy (David) Kale; brother Daniel Ball; sisters: Doris Hanson (Hobbs, New Mexico), Nelda Stout (Tennessee) and Linda Luttrell (Vernal, Utah); 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband Harold Oaks; grandson Stuart Bond; brothers: Cleve, Robert (Bob), Logan, Owen, Franklin (Butch) Ball; sisters: Alice Holmes, Jaton Fennell; parents Joseph H. Ball and Vera E. Knotts Ball.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11am at the Glines 1st Ward Chapel (1499 West Highway 40). A viewing for family and friends will be held Sunday evening from 6-8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Monday 9:45-10:45AM at the Church.
