Nolan Foy Mackay was called home by his Heavenly Father on April 11, 2022.
Nolan was born to Mark and Afton Mackay on December 1, 1930; the second child of 8. He graduated from Uintah High School in Vernal, Utah and attended university. Nolan enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until 1956 where he earned several medals and honors during his three years as a paratrooper.
Nolan married Gladys Peck in Pennsylvania, and they were blessed with three children, Kimberly Mackay, Cynthia Mackay and Doug Mackay. In 1977, Nolan married Diana Simper. Diana had three children from her former marriage, Ronald Simper, Todd Simper and Kerry Simper.
Nolan was an avid bowler and loved bowling in the weekly men's league. Nolan, along with two partners, started a successful auto parts store known as Triangle Auto Parts NAPA.
Nolan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and his decision was followed by baptism at First Baptist Church in Vernal Utah.
Upon retirement, Nolan and Diana moved to Mesquite, Nevada and Nolan enjoyed part-time work at Casa Blanca Casino. Turns out, Nolan continued to work in the auto parts industry well after reaching age 82.
Nolan is survived by sisters Gayla (Terry) Anderson and Linda (Charles) Jones; children Kimberly Mackay Arrington, Cynthia Mackay Stephenson, and Doug Mackay; stepchildren Ronald Simper, Todd Simper and Kerry Simper; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
