Patricia Ann Ducey (Olson), age 78, passed away on December 16, 2018, at her home in Fruitland, Utah, surrounded by family. She was born in New York City, to Martin and Marie Olson. Her dad was a professional trumpet player who played with the big bands of the 40s and she recalled being on stage with the Andrew Sisters when she was a child.
She worked for the Civil Air Patrol and International Expediters in New York City before marrying the love of her life, Robert Ducey, whom she met at a "Goodbye Winter, Hello Summer" garage party. Bob was in the Coast Guard and they lived in many places including Portland, Maine, Sioux St. Marie, Michigan, and Portland, Oregon, before settling on Long Island.
Bob's adventurous spirit took them to many other places. They lived in Barrington, IL, Jackson, WY, Ben Lomond, CA, and Fruitland, UT, where they built the log home of their dreams. The family has an unending source of memories of the many vacations they took, including to Europe, Mexico, and all over the US.
Some of Pat's life's highlights include staying in Elizabeth Taylor's and Richard Burton's villas in Puerto Vallarta, being an extra in the Clint Eastwood movie "Every Which Way You Can" and spending Christmas in Yellowstone.
Pat loved doing crafts of all kinds, especially making gemstone jewelry. She loved shopping with her daughter, laughing with her best friend Chris and traveling with her lifelong friend Maria. She loved margaritas, decorating the house for the holidays, cooking, and watching the birds and deer out her window. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping and snowshoeing.
She is survived by her husband Robert, children Daniel, David and Deborah, her sister Susan Palomo, nieces Allyson Ward and Justinne Lopez, and many cousins. Her parting words; "Remember the good times!"
