Russell Leonard Anderson, age 68, peacefully passed away from this earth life and into the arms of our loving Savior on July 17th, 2022. Russell was born June 6th, 1954 to Dorothy and Glade Anderson in Vernal, UT and his parents always described him as the best son a parent could ever have.
Russell served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Hawaii/Guam mission and later married his beautiful eternal companion Patti Lynne Moon in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 19th, 1976. Russell and Patti were blessed with five children: Shalene, Eric, Cindy, Austin, and Gina.
The most important things in this life to Russell were his testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ and his family. Russell made it his top priority to spend time with his family and his family knew that they were his greatest treasure here on earth. He considered fatherhood to be his greatest calling and was the perfect example of it. Each one of his children could and did call him their best friend. His motto was: a family should work hard together and play hard together.
Russell loved building different projects, working with, and helping his children, going to lunch with his daughters, and exploring every dirt road he could find but his favorite thing to do was to take his kids, and later grandchildren, fishing, hiking, and camping in the High Uinta Mountains. Those mountains were a part of Russell and he made sure he passed that passion for them down to his children and grandchildren.
Russell spent his life helping and serving others and had a natural ability to lift others. He was the epitome of integrity, love, service, kindness, hard work, friendship, and faithfulness. He had a great sense of humor and brought joy and laughter to all those around him. There are no words for how greatly he will be missed.
Russell is survived by his wife: Patti Lynne Anderson, father: Glade Anderson, children: Shalene (Cody) Bullock, Eric (Carolyn) Anderson, Austin (Chelsy) Anderson, and Gina (Zach) Galloway, grandchildren: Alayna, Payden, Garrin, Emmett, Alexis, Kamrie, Kinley, Madison, Arikka, Adalyn, McConnell, Dillon, Abigail, Keaton, Kandace, Lindsey, Kevin, Jameson, and great grandchild: Ensley, Brother Randy Anderson, Sister Cathy Bilbey-Kempton.
Russell was proceeded in death by his mother: Dorothy Anderson and daughter: Cindy Hadlock
