Scott Seely Obituary

Scott Lee Seely, age 73, passed away at home on October, 26th, 2023. Scott was born March 3rd, 1950 in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Cherron Ray Seely and Mina Velores (Peterson) Seely. He grew up in Mount Pleasant with his brothers, cousins, and many friends; and graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1968.

Very shortly after graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life Scott worked around the world in the oilfield and loved his job and was great at it. While he loved working in the oil field, throughout his life he seemed to take pride and do well at most anything he set his mind to-whether that was sheep herding when he was young, raising turkeys, saddles and leather work, gunsmithing, or just about anything he wanted to do. However, his greatest success was being an absolute wonderful father and grandfather for which he will be missed beyond words. For those that knew him, he will be greatly missed for the endless knowledge, priceless advice, and uncanny wit.

He is preceded in death by parents, Cherron and Velores Seely; brother, Stanton Seely, and infant children, Adam Seely and Tisha Seely. He is survived by brothers, Eddie (Linda) Seely and Tom (Jennifer) Seely; children, Lynn Seely and Levi Seely; grandchildren, Alyssa Seely and Aria Seely-and by many others that knew and loved him.

As requested, there will be no services, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangments under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
