Steven Paul Tidwell

Steven Paul Tidwell passed away on February 28, 2023 at the age of 70 due to complications during cancer treatment. He is missed by many who loved him and whom he loved and supported.

Steve was born on August 16, 1952 to Theresa Frances Kubacki and William Leonard Tidwell in Houston, Texas.

After graduating from Tarleton State University, Steve entered Officer's Training for the United States Marine Corps in 1975. He married Sarah Ann Gates on October 14, 1977 in the Washington DC Temple, and together they raised five children while living in eleven states and two countries.

He retired as a captain in the Air Force after 27 years of service. Steve enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, camping, and his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He cherished his service to the members whether he was a scoutmaster, high priest group leader, or in the bishopric. Above all, he enjoyed his family and loved being with his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sarah, his five children, and 14 grandchildren, and his two sisters, Tracey Goosen and Stacey DeSpain.

He is preceded in death by his brother; David, his parents, and his stepmother; Diane Noerr.

Funeral services for Steven will be held Friday March 10, 2023 at 3:00pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00pm ~ 2:00pm all at the Vernal 3rd ward chapel, (475 West 100 South). Interment will be in the Utah Veterans Cemetery on Monday March 13, 2023 at 1:00pm. Military Honors provided by the United State Marine Corps. Services under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
