Theda Houston Batty age 80, of Vernal, Utah, wife of the late Rex Harold Batty, passed away Sunday April 4, 2021. She was born November 9, 1940 in Bennett, Utah. A daughter to Ray Dillman and Emelyn Swenson Houston.
She married Larry Blain Huber on April 16, 1964 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Larry died January 30, 1965, she later married Rex Harold Batty on October 13, 1968 in Vernal. Rex later died January 13, 1995. Theda graduated from Union High School and BYU. She then started working at First Security Bank and retired from Wells Fargo after 40 plus years.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Naples 1st ward and Ashley Creek ward. Theda held may church callings including Relief Society president, in the Primary presidency and many others. Theda served in the Vernal Temple for over 10 years.
She enjoyed serving others, watching her grandkids playing sports and other outdoor activities. She loved to do yardwork and gardening. She loved spending time with her family.
Theda is survived by her son Gary (Miko) Batty of Vernal, Alan (Connie) Batty of Vernal, Rhonda Batty of Vernal, Linda Batty of Layton and Renee (Steve) Rhoades of Kaysville. Grand children Chainie (Brett) Bradley of Vernal, Matthew (Joeley) Batty of Vernal, Travis (Ashton) Batty of Vernal and many other grandkids and great grandkids. Brother and Sisters: Gary (DyAnn) Houston, Shirley (Perry) Brown, Mary Baldwin, Lana (Craig) Goodrich.
Preceded in death by: Larry Huber, Rex Batty, Ray and Emelyn Houston, George Houston and Craig Batty.
Funeral services for Theda will be held Thursday April 8, 2021 at 11am at the Ashley Creek Ward, (Uintah Stake Center, 4080 South 2500 East). Funeral services will be livestreamed. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday April 7, 2021, from 6PM - 8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, and Thursday from 9:45am - 10:45am at the Stake Center.
