Warren Sutton Obituary

Warren (Bill) Angus Sutton of Vernal, Utah, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the amazing age of 97 years old with his family by his side.

Bill was born on November 6th, 1921 in Pocatello, Idaho to David and Emma Sutton. At a young age, Bill learned to work hard towards what he truly wanted. He served as a gunner and radio man on a Navy plane and received the Ribbon of Good Conduct. Before going out into battle, he, and the love of his life, Mary, were sealed for time and all eternity on December 5, 1940 inside the Logan Temple. From there, they started their adventurous lives together and down the road had their wonderful children.

You would often find Bill in the yard, on his riding lawn mower, making sure it always measured up to his standards or sharing memories through fishing, camping, watching the Utah Jazz with his wife, cleaning the house, going out for a diet coke or ice cream errand, or even buying a bulk size pack of tic-tacs to keep his shirt pocket full. There wasnt a day that went by that you didnt hear him whistling a little tune and looking out his kitchen window to his well-kept yard. Grandpa was adored by anyone who crossed paths with him.

Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he faithfully served seven church missions. He looked forward to every Sunday that he was able to hand out programs and greet everyone who came through the door. His faith was so strong and true that it radiated amongst others.

There wasnt a more humble, kind, loving, and supportive person you could meet out there and although he will be greatly missed here with us, we feel peace knowing he is in the arms of his beautiful wife.

Bill is survived by his children, Pam (Les) Fotheringham of Evanston, WY; Jacque Searle of Vernal, UT; Sandy Sutton of Springville, UT; Warren Brad (Tana) Sutton of Vernal, UT; 14 Grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 34 great, great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kerr Haslam; parents, David James and Emma Brown Sutton; 9 sibling, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20th, at 11:00am at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 19th from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Friday, September 20th from 9:45am-10:45am all at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
