Obituary

Weldon E Wooley passed away August 24, 2023, surrounded by family in Sheldon, Missouri. Weldon was born March 1, 1930 in Tridell, UT to Milton E. and Della Moosman Wooley. He was the eldest of eight children. He entered the Army in 1947. He served in the Philippines and Korea as a lineman. He had the opportunity to speak with General Dwight Eisenhower.

He married Delores Robbins in 1951. They had six children, Arlinda, Vickie, Barbara, Claudia, Christine and Wade. They lived in Nebraska for a time, but lived mostly in Vernal. They later divorced.

While working in the oilfield in Wyoming, he met Audrey Miller Gibson, bringing six more children into the family. Ray, Gene, Barbara, John, Michelle and Debra. They married in December 1970. He taught his kids how to work, garden, farm, fish, and have fun. He bought a casing pulling rig and started Utah Colorado Casing Pullers. He had an interest in race horses, spending his weekends at the race track. He and Audrey would go fishing in Mazatlan. If you visited his house, you would see the marlin hanging on the wall. He bought an ultralight and would be seen flying over the valley, and possibly crashing now and then. He loved animals, having everything available in his house. If he could catch it, he brought it home. There was a badger, a baby skunk, a coyote. Many sick pigs and chickens were nursed in the house. He raised pigs, chickens, cows, turkeys, parrots, dogs and cats.

When Audrey passed in 2004, he married Mabel Hudson. They were married until Mabel died in 2019. He was proud to grow and eat his own food. He loved to share with the neighbors. He had a very thriving raspberry patch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives; Delores, Audrey and Mabel, daughter; Christine Baker, son-in-law; Charles Van, great-great granddaughter; Laylaith Dendler, siblings; Ione Wooley, Velda Corralz, Cleo Proctor, Norman Wooley, and sister-in-law; Georgia.
