Wanda Jean Wood, known affectionately as Wendy, passed away on July 10, 2024, at the age of 70 in Vernal, Utah. Born on February 3, 1954, in Dillon, Montana, to Joseph and Marjorie Townsend, Wendy lived a life marked by faith, love, and creativity. Wendy was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found great joy in teaching Sunday school and participating actively in her ward. Her commitment to living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her mantra to "Do unto others as you would have them Do unto you" influenced every aspect of her life. Professionally, Wendy had a diverse career. She worked as a radio Journalist, Bookkeeper, Accountant, and Office manager, & was also a talented Playwright. Her intellectual pursuits were broad, including a love for books, movies, music, poetry, history, and art. Beyond her professional & spiritual engagements, Wendy was a passionate creator. She was an avid writer, artist, & Calligrapher. Her jewelry-making complemented her skills as a seamstress & crocheter. Wendy deeply loved animals, especially horses, & enjoyed swimming, nature, shopping, & traveling. Wendy leaves behind a Loving Family, including her Husband Ronald R. Wood, their seven children - Dustin, Aleisha, Aaron, Benjamin, Chantel, Danialle, & Christina - along with their spouses & 18 Grandchildren. She is also survived by her Stepmother Alice Giles, Brother John Townsend & Wife Sonja, and step-siblings Margret Cazpdessus, Jacqueline Swearingen & Paul Michwander. Preceded in Death by her parents, Joseph and Marjorie Townsend,& Sealed-to-Father Eugene Giles, her brother Joseph Townsend, her stepmother Florence Townsend, Funeral services for Wendy will be held Saturday July 20, 2024, at 11:00am at the Naples 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (2313 South 1500 East). Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, July 19 from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, and Saturday from 9:45am ~ 10:45am at the chapel. Interment in Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating directly to the funeral home to help the family with funeral arrangements. Wendy's legacy is one of love, service, and joy, touching all those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed.
