Wilma Sims Obituary

Wilma Sue Brown Sims, age 88, passed away on January 4, 2022, from complications from a fall in her home. She was the third of four daughters born to Herb and Etta Brown in Pope County, Arkansas on January 13, 1933.

Wilma was nine when her father passed away. She, along with her mother and sisters worked hard to survive. They picked cotton and raised what food they had to eat.

Wilma married the love of her life, Cletis Sims, on August 6, 1949. They had 72 wonderful years together. They made Dinosaur, Colorado their home for most of those years. In 1998, they moved to Vernal, Utah.

Wilma and Cletis had one son, Dennis, whom they were so proud of. Wilma was devoted to Dennis and raised him with strong Christian values.

"Energizer Bunny" - those who knew Wilma will agree that describes her well. Wilma kept her home spotless inside and out. Even vacuuming her garage once a week. Wilma played hard too. She loved to bowl, snowmobile and try her luck in Wendover, Nevada.

She served as Dinosaur Town Clerk and Court Clerk for 38 years. She and Cletis moved to Vernal in 1998. She worked for Uintah County for two years and then began working for Basin Nursery until 2018.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Cletis, son Dennis (Dixie), also her "adopted" family: Max, Jeff and Jackie Haslem. She is proceeded in death by her parents and sisters.

Her family is extremely, grateful to Good Shepherd for their loving care. The kindness and support of extended family, friends and neighbors sustained us. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

A private family service for Wilma will take place at a later date.

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. . .
